Grant, 1281, January 2. 9 Edward I.

Grant by Edward I "for the salvation of [his] soul and the souls of [his] ancestors and successors" to the master and brethren of the Hospital of St. Giles, Norwich, "despite the recent provision against mortmain," that they might acquire 2 messuages which belonged to Ralph Gust of Norwich and which are located on the west side of the said hospital; and that they may enclose the lane between the hospital and the said messuages leading from the gate of the hospital courtyard to the water running under the hospital, for enlargement of the place of the said hospital. Given at Burgh on 2 January, 9 Edward I.
